Driver Instructor Endorsement (I)

An I endorsement is required for anyone who, for hire or reward, provides instruction on a road driving a motor vehicle. In order to gain an I endorsement you must have held for at least two years a full licence of Class or Classes in which you wish to provide instruction.

Dangerous Goods Endorsement (D)

If you drive a motor vehicle that's transporting dangerous goods you usually need to have a D endorsement. You will need to provide evidence of successful completion (usually a certificate) from an approved course. The endorsement is valid for a maximum of five years.

Forklift (F):

This is required for anyone who drives a forklift in a public place e.g. loading of vehicles.

Special-type vehicle Endorsements

  • Rollers (R): required for anyone who drives a special-type vehicle that run on rollers.
  • Tracks (T) : requires for anyone who drives a special-type vehicle that run on tracks.
  • Wheels (W): required for anyone who drives a special-type vehicle that runs on wheels other than forklifts.

If you wish to obtain a special-type vehicle endorsement for the first time you must hold a full licence of a class other than class 6

Passenger Endorsement

To obtain a P endorsement, you must have held a full licence (Class 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5) for at least two years prior to making an application. Holding an equivalent licence overseas will NOT meet this requirement.
The applicant must go to a LTSA regional office for a fit and proper check to be undertaken. If you pass the check, the LTSA will send you a new licence and, if required, a driver ID card. You can pay for this endorsement for one year or five years

Vehicle recovery endorsement (V)

A V endorsement is required for anyone who drives a recovery service vehicle while it is being used in a vehicle recovery service.
